Today we joined the Public Library and their summer Program of our island's children, who spent their summer reading all about their culture and history as well as on many other topics. 14 of the highest number of book readers from the older group and the same number from the lower group were treated to an island tour on woody, the amphibious military vehicle build in 1945 called a DUKW. The 1st day we parked at the library and gave all the kids the oppertunity to come on board and play with the props and ask questions and just have fun!!! the 2nd day we meet up with the 28 students at the library and then headed out to 500 sails, Red Beach, the Japanese Jail, American memorial park, The last command post, and finally suicide cliff. two and half hours later we were back at the library. The children took turns giving presenting their historical knoledge of the various locations and taking many questions from their peer's to test their knoledge. it was a GREAT learning experiance for them while they had fun playing with the military WWII props on board, laughing and enjoying the ride on this all original military vehicle in our beautiful island of Saipan. Was a GREAT DAY!!!! Congratulations to all those that spent the time and enjoyed the BOOKS and what they had to offer you for your future, NEVER stop Reading and learning as its the fruit of a good life ahead of you.
